About Us

Scritch is a Y Combinator-backed, seed-stage startup based in San Francisco. We’re building the leading AI systems for veterinary medicine — starting with voice agents that automate front-desk operations in animal hospitals.

Emily, our flagship product, is an AI receptionist who works 24/7 to schedule appointments, answer questions and more. She’s already live in practices, talking to real pet owners every day and freeing up human staff to deliver higher-quality care.

We’re a small, mission-driven team working out of our office in Mission Bay. The founders are Princeton and Cornell grads with machine learning and software engineering experience at Tesla Autopilot and Amazon. Driven by their personal experience raising pets, they founded Scritch to transform the experience of healthcare—for pets, their families, and the veterinary teams who support them.

The Role

We’re looking for a software engineer with hands-on experience with LLMs. You’ll work across the product stack—from our real-time voice pipeline to the internal tools that power our operations—and collaborate directly with the founders.

This is a rare opportunity to join early and help shape the company’s product, culture, and engineering foundation. You’ll have significant ownership, direct access to customers, and a path to technical leadership as we grow.
